Kismat is making Vidya and Shahid's Romantic Konnection
by santabanta.com

He had a nationwide shocking break up with Kareena but he didn't utter a word, he was paired with Amrita Rao still he stood numb but now even though his pairing with Vidya was much on speculation, this time the chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor could not bear this and has opened his mouth for the first time. Too hot to resist!

The romance between Shahid and Vidya blossomed on the sets of Kismat Konnection (maybe the film was, tough unintentionally, named to suggest both reel and real life star connection). But see the kismet!

Shahid is not ready to accept the fact behind the fiction. He says that both of them are just good friends! Well, we may consider the friendship as the fist step towards love. But Shahid has problem with that also.

"I am single now so everyone will link me with anyone, " Shahid gets little indignant.

People have been talking about his and Vidya's love connection from the very beginning of the schedule of this film.

They both spent 15 days together in Toronto on the shoot and came close to one another as because they had no other choice. Think again.

Firstly, the break up between Kareena and Shahid, then followed the Amrita episode which also flopped miserably and see, now Shahid is with cool Kerala beau Vidya. That’s how kismet draws people to their connections. Shahid, are you still looking for more clues?

Ash-Abhi invite Vivek in their room
by bollywoodmantra.com.com

When the Bachchans look behind, they find that they had made a lot more foes than friends in the last couple of years and now they are trying their level best to dump their past and make more and more friends and carry only good memories forward. With this aim in view, they put a step forward of liaison. They invited Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi for a get-together in their room.

Abhishek and Kareena almost stopped working together after Abhishek’s breaks up with her sister Karishma Kapoor after engagement. The Kapoors still cannot forget this misfortune. And for Vivek, the case is almost the same. He was deeply disheartened when Ash kicked him out of her life and married Abhishek. Though Vivek tried to normalize the incident by attending Teja Bachchan’s funeral, still Ash’s betrayal pinches him inwardly.

At IIFA when Abhi invited both Kareena and Vivek to the party in their room, they both turned down their friendship call by not attending the informal get-together. Instead, Kareena preferred to just hang around with her friends, Saif, Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar and Shabina Khan. While Vivek in order to escape from media’s awkward questions, hung out with his Mission Istanbul gang in his room.

Mallika Sherawat's that one special Kiss

Guess what's turning out to be the USP of Mallika Sherawat's upcoming release Ugly Aur Pagli? Those 99 slaps that she has in the offering for Ranvir Shorey.

Believe it or not but in this upcoming riotous comedy from the house of Pritish Nandy Communications, Mallika slaps Ranvir a staggering 99 times

. And all this happens even as the two are shown to be love birds in the film. One wonders if Ranvir was a real sport to this treatment mainly because at the end there was also 1 kiss reserved for him, as indicated by the film's tagline - 99 SLAPS 1 KISS!

Ugly Aur Pagli is the story of Kabir (Ranvir), a carefree guy who has been studying engineering for ten years now.

However, his life goes through a spin when he meets the quirky and kinky Kuhu (Mallika Sherawat). Though Kabir always wanted a girl to love, never in his wildest dreams had he imagined to come across someone like Kuhu who would make him do crazy things.

And what were these crazy things? Well, nothing less than dancing around circles, run semi naked, ride cycles without seats or wear high heeled ladies shoes! Well, 99 slaps were just a few more add-ons!

A desperate Kabir tries hard to escape Kuhu's clutches, but in the process only ends up falling in love with her even more! Will he survive all her insane demands and tantrums?

Ugly Aur Pagli brings together Mallika and Ranvir for the second time after Pyaar Ke Side Effects. In fact it is quite a jump for Ranvir who has graduated from being Rahul Bose's sidekick in Pyaar Ke Side Effects to being the leading man in Ugly Aur Pagli.

So what if his role required him to be a receipient of 99 slaps!

As per the makers of the film, Ugly Aur Pagli is touted to be 'This Summer's Craziest Comedy'. Ugly Aur Pagli is directed by debutant film maker Sachin Khot and has music by Anu Malik with lyrics by Amitabh Varma. - Joginder Tuteja

Bachchans visit H'bad to promote Sarkar Raj
by ibnlive.com

The Bachchan family visited Hyderabad not for another pilgrimage but it was a promotional visit for their new movie Sarkar Raj.

CNN-IBN finds out their views on what they felt about the movie not doing too well..

Days after the release of Sarkar Raj, the much hyped-about movie hasn't really rocked the box office. However, its biggest star, the Big B has a different opinion.

“Everyone’s loved the film and good performances have paid off,” says Amitabh.

However, when asked about the box office bombing, Big B seem to have felt a little offended. “We will give you the figures just now and then you make up your mind and tell me if the movie did not do well at the box-office,” adds Big B.

Defending the movie, Bollywood actress and the Bachchan daughter-in-law, Aishwarya said, “I don’t know who is creating these rumours and who is fanning it. I don't know where u guys come up with all this.”

Junior Bachchan however, was his usual cool self, just too happy to work with family. “Dad, Aishwarya and I worked together in the film and we thoroughly enjoyed our shoots,” says Abhishek.

The movie may have had mixed reviews, but the stars definitely don’t seem to be complaining.

by topnews.in

She is hot; she is sexy; she is multi-talented; she is number one; she is hard-working; she is the stunner, who becomes the most-demanded actress in the Bollywood industry.

Well actually, she is Katrina Kaif or Kats, who has just been announced the ‘Sexiest Woman Of the World’ by a UK men’s entertainment magazine, which conducted an online poll in India.

The cute faced actress, who is very happy after getting her recent ‘Sexiest’ tag, thanked all her fans who voted and brought her up to the top slot.

Kats won the most coveted title by overcoming the likes of Hollywood starlets’ Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson, singers Rihanna and Madonna and Bollywood beauties such as Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, supermodels including Adriana Lima and Gisele Bundchen, amongst many other sexy and successful women in the world.

Sallu girlfriend said, “It feels great. I think it’s the sweetest thing that my fans have done. They have actually taken time off to go online and vote for me.”

Kats is also the most downloaded actress, her pics are the most viewed ones online.

“Isn’t that amazing?” she asked.

Katrina, has recently been basking in the triumph of Abbas-Mustan’s Race in Dubai and her recent success has added more to her delight.

Her boyfriend Sallu is also amongst the sexiest men in the world. And the pair is doing Subhash Ghai’s ‘Yuvaraj’, a movie in which Katrina plays the role of a musician.

Katrina surely deserves lots of congratulations for adding another feather to her sexy hat.

Movie Review: Aamir, a tight thriller
by ibnlive.com

Seldom have I seen as confident and competent a first-film as Aamir. It's a tight little thriller that sucks you into its drama less than five minutes into the film and keeps you hooked till the end credits roll.

Television's wonder-boy Rajeev Khandelwal stars as Aamir, a Muslim doctor returning to Mumbai after a stint in the UK, who finds his life turned upside down from the moment he steps out of the airport. A stranger slips him a mobile phone and a voice at the other end threatens to kill his family if he doesn't follow instructions. From confusion, to shock, to fear, to anger, Aamir goes through all the motions as he follows the voice that leads him in and out of Mumbai's impoverished neighborhoods to have his nose rubbed in the stink and the poverty of the life he abandoned for the comforts of the West. As the voice on the phone leads him through a series of increasingly dangerous errands, it becomes clear what the caller's agenda is. In one last fateful instruction, Aamir is given the grim choice of carrying out a terrorist act or losing his family forever.

Skillfully directed by debutant Rajkumar Gupta from a story that sounds suspiciously similar to that of the Filipino film Cavite, Aamir works because it's filmed documentary-style, creating a breathless, urgent tempo, transporting the audience out there where the action is, side-by-side with the protagonist.

The film's only weak link, is the absence of any convincing explanation why Aamir and not anyone else in similar conditions was singled out for this operation. In fact, you'll find that little detail is satisfactorily handled in Cavite where there's a very specific back-story behind the selection of that particular protagonist. Also despite its running time of only 90 minutes, Aamir does, in a few places, tend to get repetitive and loose. But for the most part the film moves at a brisk pace, never really deviating from its thriller format.

The success and the impact of a film of this nature depends greatly on the credibility and the performance of its protagonist who occupies virtually every frame of the film from start to finish. In Rajeev Khandelwal, the filmmakers have found the perfect man for the job. Uninhibited, spontaneous and blessed with unmistakable presence, Khandelwal holds the screen like a seasoned artist. Using his face as a canvas to display emotions, he emerges the biggest strength of this little film.

More relevant to an Indian audience than Phone Booth or Cellular, two popular Hollywood films with a similar premise, Aamir has a moral core that will no doubt resonate with discerning viewers.

I'm going to go with three out of five and a thumbs up for Aamir, it's a remarkable film that you mustn't miss if you're tired of all the mindless entertainment that's hurled at you week after week at the movies. And Rajkumar Gupta is a director to look out for.

Movie Review: Sex And The City, brand orgy
by ibnlive.com

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a fan of the show, but I'll admit I've enjoyed reruns of Sex And The City every time I've caught one by accident. Of course what I think of the show doesn't matter here. The truth is, ladies everywhere have been waiting for this, and now it's finally here.

To be entirely honest, the Sex And The City movie doesn't actually feel like a cohesive feature at all. At two hours and twenty-five odd minutes, it feels more like a string of episodes slapped back-to-back, if you ask me. The girls are back for their big screen outing, but I'm disappointed to report, the fun's missing from this adventure.

Sex columnist-turned-author Carrie Bradshaw is planning a fancy wedding with Mr Big, but he's having second thoughts. Cynical, razor-sharp lawyer Miranda is having trouble trusting her husband again after he confesses to having had a casual sexual encounter. Nymphomaniac Samantha is missing her promiscuous lifestyle even as she's settled into a monogamous relationship with her actor boyfriend in LA. And ever the optimist Charlotte is enjoying a happy domestic life with her husband Harry and their adopted daughter Lily, but has never quite given up the hope of getting pregnant.

Now much of the show's success and popularity came from its effortless humour, the clever one-liners delivered by its characters, and their ability to laugh at themselves and at each other in the most delicate circumstances. The problem with the film is the humour's more slapstick than smart — there's a horny dog, a character who shits in her pants, and a scene involving Japanese food as a sex aid. The script fails in interweaving all the characters' storylines, and some characters simply don't get enough material to chew on.

On the upside, say hello to Jennifer Hudson who makes an inspired entry into the story as Carrie's personal assistant, adding a twenty-something perspective for female characters who're now in their forties. Also — and all you ladies , listen to this clearly — it's a mad orgy of designer brands; handbags, heels and wedding gowns, they're all there! The film doesn't cover much ground sadly, but like the show it ends up being about the bond these women share.

I'm going with two out of five and an average rating for Sex And The City: The Movie. Perhaps my opinion really doesn't count here — after all I'll never understand what all the fuss over that new Louis Vuitton handbag is all about.

Movie Review: Sarkar Raj is punishingly slow
by ibnlive.com

Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar Raj is a gabfest. There's really no other way to describe this film — it's all talk and very little action. And excessive talk seldom makes for exciting viewing.

Intended no doubt to be an intense political drama, Sarkar Raj is sadly not a patch on Varma's original film Sarkar, of which this one is nothing but a watered down sequel. The Nagres, when they were first introduced to us in the 2005 film, were an uber-powerful family whose patriarch Subhash Nagre (or Sarkar as we came to know him) was a mafioso with a righteous streak. Pilfered from the plot of Coppola's Godfather, Varma's previous film ended with Sarkar's younger son Shankar following in the footsteps of his father. A US-educated lad who reluctantly embraces his destiny and joins in the family business so to speak.

It was a dramatic film, remarkably enacted by both Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, and one that left a lasting impression. Sarkar Raj doesn't have either the dramatic tone of the first film, nor a premise that's particularly engaging.

Despite his reservations, Subhash Nagre gives his beta a nod of approval when Shankar convinces him that a power plant project in rural Maharashtra will benefit the state and its people. Teaming up with an NRI corporate head, Shankar takes to the villages to gather support from the masses. Unfortunately for the Nagres, things don't go quite as smoothly as they'd hoped. Too many parties have too many interests and as a result, this project becomes something of a political minefield.

To be entirely fair, Sarkar Raj is not a bad film, it's just not good. There's little in the plot that's original or imaginative, and it doesn't help that Varma lazily shoots his sequel exactly the same way as he did the first film, complete with lighting tricks and booming theme music. The problem here is Varma's characters. Amitabh Bachchan plays Sarkar as a sort of preachy grandfather who's dripping words of wisdom everytime he thinks Shankar may be taking a wrong step. You might remember, much of the reason why Sarkar appealed to us so much in the first film was because he was a man of a few words. A man whose silences said so much. In this film, you long for him to be silent — if only for a few moments. Abhishek Bachchan, meanwhile, as Shankar Nagre, bears a pained expression throughout the film and does little else. As the corporate head who proposes the power plant to Shankar, Aishwarya Rai is restrained and stays within character for the most part.

The biggest blow comes in the form of the film's drudging pace. It's only two hours and a few minutes in running time, but it felt like the longest two hours of my life. A film so punishingly slow I think I felt my nails grow sitting in that seat.

So that's two out of five and at best an average rating for Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar Raj, it's a disappointing follow up to a very good film. Now we can only hope Part Three will be better. Because all evidence indicates that Sarkar will return.

Rating: 2 / 5 (Average)

Glimpse of Ash's corporate look in Sarkar Raj
by bollywoodmantra.com

Aishwarya Bachchan had a complete make-over in Sarkar Raj. She sports an altogether different look in the film. Sarkar Raj demands corporate look and she is styled accordingly by fashion designer Falguni Thakore. Not only her attire, her hair too is fashioned in a new style.

She is playing a character named Anita Rajan, who is a CEO of an international company, and comes to India to build a power plant. Keeping in mind the prowess of the character, Falguni incorporated some new element in her get-up. The promos give us a glimpse of Ash’s dynamic look and Falguni’s fabulous work-piece.

Neeta Lulla is a constant designer of Aishwarya but for Sarkar Raj, Ramgopal Varma opted for Falguni Thakore. The promo gives us an idea that the new designer of Ash has been able to do full justice to Ash’s character and look, successful in bringing a corporate look on her. Falguni gushed that Ramu has given her the complete freedom to decorate Ash. "Ramu wanted a strong corporate woman with a feminine touch," Falguni remarked.

Shahid scares Vidya’s mom
by bollywoodmantra.com

Very few know that Shahid Kapoor is a prankster. While shooting for Aziz Mirza’s Kismet Konnetion, he played a trick with Vidya but unfortunately her mother became the victim. Unknowingly, he scared Vidya’s mom. The incident turned to be quite funny for the unit members but later Shahid felt awkward to face Mrs. Balan.

The incident took place in Canada during the shooting of Kismet Konnection. While discussing, Shahid discovered that Vidya scared of spirit and he decided to scare her wearing a horrifying mask. Joining him in the game was actor Vishal Malhotra who is playing Shahid’s friend in the film.

One night, around 2:30 am, he knocked on Vidya’s door. And to his surprise, Vidya’s mom opened the door as she and Vidya were put up in the same room with a common door. Shahid expected Vidya but he was stunned to see Mrs. Balan attending him. The next morning, he felt embarrassed to face her but when the unit member clarified the entire matter to Mrs. Balan, she just laughed over the happening.

Aishwarya denies pregnancy reports
by bollywoodmantra.com

Wherever Ash goes, media follows her with the same question of pregnancy. Ash is sick and tired of denying her pregnancy reports. Recently, they purchased a villa and rumor circulated all round that they purchased the villa to hide the pregnancy. To it, Ash and Abhi reacted that they had not purchased any home in Dubai to hide the greatest joy of their life.

Media followed Ash with the same question of pregnancy from Sarkar Raj promotion to the inauguration of the shopping mall on the outskirts of Delhi. Ash vehemently denied of being pregnant. Abhishek very calmly informed the media that they are not expecting a baby and incase they do, they will not keep the media in the dark and will definitely share the good news with them.

After marriage, Ash and Abhi will be paired first time ever in Sarkar Raj. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role. The film has been unveiled in a unique way where Ash and Abhi attended the function from Miami via video conference.

Aditya Chopra gifts diamond ring to Rani
by bollymantra.com

Slowly and steadily the relationship is progressing towards marriage. Though Rani always replied aggressively to media whenever her marriage issue was raised but knowingly or unknowingly, she has shown many signs of her presence in Yashraj head honcho Aditya Chopra’s life. The first sign being Rani’s stepping out of her house as her parents are against her marriage. Secondly, Rani’s love for Yashraj films has made her to decorate her living room with Yashraj films poster. And the third most vital symbol is Aditya’s 10 carat diamond gift to her.

What Rani has tried to hide for a long time from the world has finally been evoked by a symbol of togetherness which Aditya has gifted her in a special day and time. Now that Aditya’s divorce case has been settled down, we can expect that their wedding is on the cards. On being asked, it is sure that Rani will again reply harshly to the media and refute the diamond gift story but it will be proved on the day when she will tie knot with him.

May be she is planning to surprise all with her impromptu declaration of marriage to Aditya. Well, Rani we are ready for that.
