Bollywood actor Aamir Khan on Tuesday said that his forthcoming film 'Ghajini', which is scheduled to hit the silver screen on December 25, will be his first full-fledged action film."After 'Fanaa'(2006), 'Ghajini' will be my first commercial entertainer in a long time. It will also be my first out and out action film," Aamir said at the formal trailer-teaser release of the movie in Mumbai.
The action in the film is quite special, he said.
"We wanted to release the film during Diwali but it got delayed due to the muscle-tear injury I suffered during the film's shooting," Aamir said.
Aamir, who has sported a muscular build in this film, said that he had to work-out for almost an year to get the physique.
"I started my work-outs during the post-production of 'Taare Zameen Par'. I exercised at least 3-4 hours everyday," Aamir said.
"It was only after 2-3 weeks of training that I realised what I had gotten into. I realised it was more of a mental game than a physical one," he added.
'Ghajini' is a remake of the Tamil film of the same name which in turn was inspired by psychological thriller 'Memento' directed by Christopher Nolan.
Directed by A R Murugadoss, 'Ghajini' also stars actresses Jiah Khan and Asin Thottumkal.

"I am so happy and excited. I'm going to get blissfully debauched this evening," says Preity Zinta as she jumps up and down on her seat. And with reason. She has just heard that she has won the best actress award at the Chicago International Film Festival for her performance as the battered Punjabi wife grappling with domestic violence in Deepa Mehta's Heaven On Earth.
"It was my director Deepa Mehta who informed me on Saturday afternoon that I had won. I couldn't go to Chicago, and neither could Deepa. Without any lobbying I've done it." She squeals, as she informs her mom and buddy Karan Johar of the posh international triumph just when back home, the rave reviews are coming in for her performance in her latest release Heroes.
And now the huge honour at the Chicago Film Festival has Preity in a daze. "I'm walking on sunshine. I can't believe where I am!" Preity is immensely thankful to Anupam Kher. "I attended his acting school to get my Punjabi right for both the roles. He taught me how to pronounce the words properly. He has been a blessing."
What really pleases Preity is that this international award will help sell Heaven On Earth to a global audience. "It is a film in Punjabi and I felt the language would limit the appeal. But trust Deepa to break the cultural barriers."
As Preity's cup of joy runs over you gently suggest marriage. "Oh no not now. I don't feel the time is right. I'd want to get married only when I want to have children. Right now let me enjoy this moment. Everyone who thought those dimples needed to shut down now (yup, that's what one critic wrote)...this one is for you, guys."
Adds Deepa Mehta, "It's amazing, isn't it? I'm so happy for Preity. She's luminous in Heaven On Earth...just like Shabana Azmi in Fire. Coincidentally, Shabana was the other actress to win the Best Actress Award at Chicago. I don't think any other Indian actress has won this award. I'm happy Preity is getting rave reviews for Heroes. I've seen bits of her performance in Heroes. And in fact it was that performance which reassured me that I had made the right choice for Heaven On Earth."

Kangna Ranaut is in an explosive mood. May be it has something to do with the 'explosive' cinema that she has been a part of ever since she made her debut with ‘Gangster’. From playing a gangster's love interest (which was straight out of headlines) in Gangster to re-enacting the trauma of Parveen Babi in ‘Woh Lamhe’ and most recently expressing the dilemma of Senior Executive at a Call Center in ‘Life In A Metro’, Kangna has been busy making her own space outside a world which goes by the name of Bollywood. While working in aforementioned films, didn't she feel like being a part of a hardcore Bollywood commercial film to at least stay in the reckoning during her relatively leaner period?
"Everybody asks me this. But I never felt like being a part of a hardcore Bollywood commercial film because I have no respect for such cinema", Kangna makes a shocking confession.
She continues, "It is like an immortal work of art. For me my movies are my heart-beat. I cannot do a stupid film in which people laugh while they are watching it. So I have to be very careful".
Seems like she detests such cinema? "Yes, because it hurts me emotionally and mentally when people make fun about the characters in the film. I don't like people making fun of movies and characters. You should be given respect in society and for the work you do."
In that case, is ‘Fashion’ the kind of film which should get the actors in it the kind of respect she aims for? "I really hope so. Fashion will change the thinking of the society and what they think about the fashion world. I don't have a crystal ball to see what the future holds, but yes I do know that the film will do very well", says Kangna in a positive tone.
There has been long gap between her last film ‘Life In A Metro’ and ‘Fashion’. Was a break like this planned? Replies Kangna, "It was not planned. Some times it just takes too long for a project to complete. Even Fashion for that matter took about 6- 7 months to complete. In fact I did a film in the middle called Roshan but it didn't come. It will now come out after Fashion".

Filmmaker Karan Johar was in London this week to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (KKHH) which took the box office by storm, not just in India but broke records in the UK. It's been 10 years but seems like British Indians just can't get enough of this blockbuster.
Surrounded by fans, posing for the shutterbugs Johar is as big a star as any of the leading actors in his films. And Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was the film that launched his career as a director 10-years-ago.
When it released in October 1998, It broke records, set trends and gave Bollywood a 'designer' look. It also tapped into the huge overseas market. In the UK, the film earned over £1.75 million, breaking every record for Hindi films until then.
"I think what connected at that point of time was the basic rootedness and the western exterior. The film had an Indian soul with a western blend and that's the combination that worked well. In fact that's what both DDLJ (Dilwale Duhaniya Le Jayenge) and KKHH did," said Johar
And even after 10 years, it seems Indians in the UK just can't get enough.
"I think I have seen KKHH 50 timese, now I also narrate the dialogues when I'mwatching the film which is quite annoying for the family," said a KKHH fan.
"It was my son's birthday which was a special occasion for the family. So I went with my mother and kids to watch the film. We were three generations watching the film together," said another fan.
While the film evokes cherished memories for many, for its director, there is that one special moment.
"The scene where Kajol and SRK in the rain, that one moment in the gazebo, I remember watching it on the monitor and thought to myself - 'I think I have a special film'," recalled Johar.
The trend that began with DDLJ got a further boost with KKHH. It opened a huge NRI market for Indian films as Indians living abroad went back to the cinema theatres in droves. And 10 years on, it still remains one of the favourite and most successful films coming out of Bollywood in a decade.

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh and TV actress Mona Singh's power-packed Punjabi performance in the grand finale of the dance reality show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena helped them bag the award for the best dancers on the show. The duo danced on the popular, fast and catchy number Nagaada nagaada baja from the hit film Jab We Met. The Sikh background of each of them gave them an advantage to add the right flavour to the performance and left the judges - cricketer Wasim Akram and actress Sushmita Sen - spellbound.
While Sushmita said it was a good victory for the couple, Mona said, "Harbhajan has been a rockstar partner."
The show aired on channel Colors and had six couples - a cricketer teamed with a TV actress in each case - competing on the dance floor.
The other participants were S Sreesanth-Surveen Chawla, Nigaar Z Khan-Dinesh Karthik, Vinod Kambli-Shama Sikander, Nikhil Chopra-Barkha Bisht and Irfan Pathan-Ashima Bhalla.

Many Hindu organisations had objected to the dance, saying Ravan could not be shown dancing with Sita. The Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhs in Amritsar, had also objected to Harbhajan hurting sentiments of Hindus and even Sikhs.
But the two had apologised for the act and sailed through till the end to win the show.

But to his surprise, a few years down the line, things have definitely changed for good. The same University invited Rahul as a guest lecturer for acting and theatre students to enlighten them on various topics.
"Yes, I took three lectures. About 200 students showed up for the lectures where the underlying theme was about living your dreams, and finding out what you are best at. There were many Indian students too. They asked a lot of questions about globalisation, secularism, communal harmony, rich versus poor, and so on," says an excited Rahul.
