Britney Spears says her life is so dull under her father's watchful eye that she feels old and boring. With her new album Circus out next week, the 26-year-old singer is working on a comeback after seeing her life spiral out of control with a run of strange behavior, a bitter custody battle over her two sons and the loss of her rights to administer her own affairs.

"I feel like an old person now," Spears told Rolling Stone in an interview for the music magazine's December 11 issue. "I do! I go to bed at, like, 2130 every night and I don't go out or anything, you know what I mean? I just feel like an old fart."

In 2007, the Louisiana native was a near-constant figure on the Hollywood party scene. She shaved her head, then wore a pink wig and spoke with a fake British accent. By early this year, she was hospitalised twice for psychiatric evaluation.

By February, a California court named her father as a conservator of her estate, giving Jamie Spears control over her personal and business affairs. Since then, she seems to have put her life back in order.

Womaniser, the first single from Circus, reached the top of Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart in October. The album is set for release on December 2, the singer's 27th birthday and she plans to tour this spring to promote it.

Pop star Britney Spears plans to set the record straight about her personal and professional woes in a documentary to be aired shortly before the release of her new album Circus in December.

In the 90-minute film, Britney: For the Record, Spears talks about her high-profile meltdown, which included stints in rehab and psychiatric hospital units, an ugly divorce, losing custody of her two sons and shaving her head.

"I sit there and I'll look back and I'm like: I'm a smart person. What the hell was I thinking?" the 26-year-old singer says in the documentary shot by filmmaker Phil Griffin over three-months.

In the past six months or so, Spears' father Jamie has taken over management of her affairs and helped get his daughter's life back on track. She has made guest appearances on US TV series How I Met Your Mother and is due to release her sixth studio album on her Dec. 2 birthday.

The album marks the follow-up to 2007's Blackout, which was also billed as a comeback, but failed to return Spears to the commercial heyday she enjoyed at the turn of the century.

The documentary, described as showing "the reality of trying to live a normal life after all that has been exposed through the media," is set to air on MTV on November 30.

"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know," Spears said in a statement. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed," she said.

Troubled pop star Britney Spears's ex-boyfriend photographer Adnan Ghalib is upset with reports that he has a sex tape involving him and Britney and says he will take legal action against the publication that first published the story.

A website's quoted Ghalib saying, "There is no sex tape. I'm extremely upset and taking legal action."

Britney was at the lowest point of her life when she was dating him - she was battling drugs, depression and a host of other problems. It was reported that a sex tape was filmed while the couple was holidaying in Mexico months back.

It was reported that Britney is trying to buy the tape herself to stop it from getting on to the Internet.

The singer and Ghalib had dated in January of this year. She broke it off with him after she found out that he was trying to sell pictures of them.

Britney Spears began drinking at the age of 13, lost virginity at 14 and then started drugs at the age of 15, according to the tell-all book by mum Lynne Spears.

Lynne has made some sensational revelations in her book due to release on September 16.

In her book ‘Through the Storm’, Lynne revealed that the 26-year-old singer began drinking at the age of 13, lost her virginity at 14, and then started taking drugs at 15.

The Toxic singer allegedly had her first drink after joining Disney’s squeaky-clean Mickey Mouse Club.

Lynne also claims that the 14-year-old Britney then had sex with an 18-year-old high school in her home town of Kentwood, Louisiana soon after she quit the TV show.

She said that she regrets handing over control of Britney’s career to managers and allowing her daughter to be promoted as a sex object in raunchy videos at such a young age.

As Britney pursued her career, Lynne let her 16-year-old daughter sleep with Justin Timberlake, despite claiming she was a virgin.

“Lynne thought Britney was in love and Justin was good for her,” the Sun quoted a source, as saying.

Britney was once caught with cocaine and cannabis on a private jet, when she was 16.

The book is set to deepen the rift between Britney and Lynne.

Pop princess Britney Spears’ impersonator is not an ordinary look-alike, for it happens to be a male by the name of Derrick Barry.

"I'm questioning my sexuality," the Sun quoted the former Baywatch star as saying.

When questioned whether there would be room for two Spears, Barry was of the opinion that a male counterpart would be welcomed.

"There may be people or critics that don't approve of what I do, and they may not approve of her, but I'm here because she is so talented,” Barry said.

"Its make or break time. I think the world is ready to see that male impersonation is a true art form," he added.
