The beard adds so much to my character," says Purab.Director Abhishek Kapoor adds, "We have been so authentic about our presentation on the film and we have used that to tell the people that this is what you are going to get when you go to the theatre and that's what people want to see.
Frankly, after playing a mother of six on television, this wasn't tough.Holding a concert was a big deal because apart from it being the first time any movie has done a concert with the cast, it gave a great platform for us to interact directly with the audience of the movie.
While Prachi didn't mind being sidelined in the film, actor Purab Kohli who plays the drums for the Rock On group couldn't stop raving about his look in the movie. One will just have to wait till Friday for an answer to this one.
Now that I know very clearly what the truth is.I did my share on TV and now this is also an experience," says she. And I think if KD (his character) didn't have that look, the band wouldn't look that good.
It's always said that films are always male-dominated and on TV it's the female who is the protagonist. I too had my mind set on certain things. And we have done a couple of concerts.
Producer and actor, Farhan Akhtar says, "Making sure you are on TV, heard on radio, have a presence on the streets - things like that are important. Before we shot the film, there was a whole look test that they did and everyone had different ideas about the way they wanted to look.
The film also marks the debut of the television star Prachi Desai, who is only too happy to have quit the small screen. With their film ready to release this Friday, it's no wonder that the cast of Rock On is all keyed up in the final leg of their promotional appareances and there is no subtle marketing for this one.
So, will the band be able to drum up enough enthusiasm among the audiences when the film is released?
Or will it prove to be a swan song for some?
